The Complete Hymns of Horatius Bonar (pre-order)

Horatius Bonar (1808–1889) is considered the greatest hymnwriter of Scotland. His poetic output was prodigious, and his complete hymns have never been published in one collection. This new project gathers every one of Bonar’s hymns from seven publications, spanning more than three decades.

This three-volume boxed set is beautifully bound and sewn in green cloth with gold foil. The three volumes are presented in a cloth slipcase.

The interior is typeset using Caslon 11/14, with two-color printing and generous margins. The paper is 75g textured ivory. All spelling has been preserved from the original manuscripts, both British and archaic renderings, as well as punctuation. The only editorial change was standardizing the capitalization of divine pronouns. Line indentations have also been strictly replicated, as these are essential to the poetry. A small red fleuron marks the end of each hymn.
