Awake, My Soul

NOTE: This is a pre-order. Estimated ship date is August 2024. A book of daily readings of 366 hymn texts from throughout church history, from the Middle Ages to 1900. Each hymn for the day includes a suggested tune and a short historical and theological explanation. The book is cloth-bound, hardcover, two-color printing, with a ribbon.  Although the book is intended to be used daily, the following seasons are marked in the contents, allowing the reader to adapt the hymn of day as desired:

• Passion week (Palm Sunday through Resurrection Sunday)
• Advent (in 2024, December 1 through Christmas Day)

I’ve already had several requests for supplemental resources to aid in singing these hymns. If this project reaches $10,000 in funding, I’ll make piano-vocal recordings of all 365 hymns and make them freely available online to allow individuals and families to sing along.
